Join Board Certified Neurologist, Dr. Janel, as she guides you to the Ayurvedic Lifestyle. Below is what you can expect over the four consecutive classes. You can join one or all the sessions.
Week 1: Introduction to Aryuveda – Learn the basics of the original “lifestyle medicine”. Over 5000 years old, aryuveda’s benefits are increasingly supported by modern science. Take a quiz to determine your unique dosha type and learn about your innate nature to begin to cultivate your personal path to wellness
Week 2: Dosha Types and Balancing Practices Learn more about your dosha, or your unique mind/body type. Take a vikruti quiz to identify signs of imbalance created by your current lifestyle and learn practices you can incorporate into your daily life to create balance and improve your health.
Week 3: Aryuvedic Nutrition – According to aryuveda, food is medicine. Nutrition, and eating a diet for your dosha type, is one of the key ways to increase balance and nourish your body and mind. We will do a “Six Tastes” taste test and you will take home a personalized dosha shopping list.
Week 4: Aryuvedic Practices – Spend time learning about two common balancing daily practices – abayhanga (or self-massage) and pranayama (or breathing practices). Take home a sample of a dosha specific oil to continue abayhanga at home.
